What is a Road Zone?
A Road Zone is a small map area derived from geographic coordinates. Driftistan shows the zone you are in, adjacent zones, and places already present in your journey history. It is a gameplay layer over the map—not land ownership.
Names people recognise.
When network access is available, Driftistan resolves the approximate centre of a zone into a locality, neighbourhood, town, or nearby named area. Results are cached so the interface remains useful without repeatedly requesting the same place name.
If a name is unavailable, the app displays a stable Road Zone code instead of inventing a location.
Consistency beats intensity.
A server-verified journey can contribute to every Road Zone the route passes through. The claim score combines:
Distance
Verified kilometres driven within the zone.
Passes
Separate eligible journeys through the zone.
Active days
Distinct days with verified activity in the zone.
Minimum claim requirements
Before a driver can hold a zone, the current rules require at least three verified passes, 1.5 verified kilometres, and activity on two distinct days. These thresholds favour familiarity and return visits over one intense journey.
Speed is not read into the score and never improves standing.
Find active areas, not exact drivers.
Road Heat highlights nearby zones where several drivers recently completed verified journeys. Activity is grouped into three bands, delayed by 15 minutes, and withheld until at least three distinct drivers contributed.
Tap a hot zone while parked to navigate toward the area. Driftistan does not reveal an individual driver's exact route, current position, identity, or live movement through Road Heat.
Standing without route exposure.
Zone standings expose score totals and public driver identity needed for the leaderboard. They do not expose another driver's full path or live location. Exact journey points remain separate from the public standings response.
Not street racing.
Driftistan Road Zones do not rank fastest times, aggressive manoeuvres, or public-road races. Crews and rivalry must remain compatible with traffic law, local access restrictions, and attention-safe driving.
- Do not interact with the app while the vehicle is moving.
- Never trespass or enter a restricted road to reach a zone.
- Do not organise public-road racing, wagers, or dangerous challenges.
